July was another flat month on the Florida Space Coast. Here is a 9 minute highlight video. Enjoy.
Not much surf for the past three months and I took trips to Egypt & Alaska. Here is a recap of the sessions I was able to get in.
Well, summer of 2018 has been a real bust in Florida for surfing. Only 7 days of surfing in 3 months (a new record). And those days were small to boot. September is the peak of tropical storm/hurricane season so we might start to get some swells. Enjoy the 12 minute video of highlights (aka lowlights). For some reason, this video preview for this link does not work. Go to (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=stHDcnrzIik&t=9s)
Drove the RV down to Key Largo for a few days. Since there has been no surf here on the Space Coast, figured some paddle time on the Gulf of Mexico might be fun. The campground was right on the Gulf and I got out paddling every day (although it was a flat as a lake – as expected). Even scored a great sunset paddle the last night we were there.
Not a lot of wave action in February & March. Plus, I was trekking in Nepal for 16 days of March. At any rate, enjoy this recap.
January was a month of alternating days of big waves and choppy conditions. Managed some go rides and wipeouts. In mid month I experimented with putting the camera on the paddle (PPOV), Also went out at Shell Beach a couple of time. Enjoy this recap.
The historical lack of waves on the central coast continued through September. Also, ventured down to Florida for a week (where the waves were actually better). Here are the highlights from the days that had rideable waves. Enjoy.
